GoDaddy.com Adding Hundreds of Jobs in Hiawatha

HIAWATHA, IA – A major expansion announcement from Internet powerhouse GoDaddy.com. The world’s largest Web-hosting and domain name registrar is expanding its office in Hiawatha, Iowa, which means newly-created job opportunities. Go Daddy is looking to hire 100-200 people in the next few months and plans to add a total of 500-700 employees over the next five years.

Go Daddy had operated its Iowa office out of Cedar Rapids for nearly a decade, but is officially moving its operations to Hiawatha where it will expand dramatically this summer.  Go Daddy’s new jobs provide a range of opportunities, including positions for skilled developers to jobs with the company’s legendary customer care unit, for which it will provide on-site job training.

“We know there is a first-rate employee pool right here in eastern Iowa – people we can put to work to help us provide our growing customer-base with the brand of service Go Daddy customers love,” said Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons. “We’re looking for people who have that light in their eye. Hard-working people who want to make a difference,” Parsons added.

Another reason for Go Daddy’s Iowa growth is its commitment to customer care. Each and every one of Go Daddy’s 1,200-plus customer care representatives are based right here in the U.S.A.

Go Daddy’s new office is located at 1 Parsons Drive. The expansion plans over the next several years would make Go Daddy Hiawatha’s largest employer. The address may sound familiar to Iowans who remember when Parsons Technology occupied the same location 15 years ago.

“Having Bob Parsons and Go Daddy expand here in our city means new jobs for our residents,” said Hiawatha Mayor Tom Theis. “Go Daddy is a prime example of the type of business Hiawatha likes to attract – it’s a dominant company that treats its employees right and shows no signs of slowing down.”

Go Daddy has demonstrated explosive growth in recent years. It now employs more than 2,600 people.  The Ariz.-based business also has operations in Denver, Colo., Washington, D.C, Toronto, Canada and the Netherlands. In the fall, Go Daddy plans to expand yet again, with a new data center in Asia.

“Go Daddy is an internationally renowned company at the top of their game and in a highly competitive industry. Their presence enhances our global visibility – it puts our region on the radar,” said Mark Seckman, president of Priority One.

The expansion reaches beyond just the Go Daddy jobs.  Experts predict Go Daddy hires will trigger the overall economy by creating nearly one-thousand additional jobs in industries such as dining, real estate, telecommunications and hospitals.

Go Daddy has earned its reputation as top employer over the years. It has ranked on the Best Places to Work list for six years running. Go Daddy offers its employees generous vacation packages that start within the first year of employment, along with top wages and some of the best medical benefits of any company in the country.

Go Daddy is also generous with its charitable donations.  In fact, in 2008 when floods ravaged parts of Iowa, Go Daddy quickly stepped up to donate $100,000 to help flood victims

Go Daddy’s Customer Care positions for the Iowa office are set to be online in July. People passionate about technology are encouraged to apply online at GoDaddy.com/Jobs.
