Sports & Recreation There is plenty to participate in or cheer on in the Corridor. In the Cedar Rapids area you'll find the expected and unexpected including dragon boat races, fencing, horseback riding, rugby and cricket. In Cedar Rapids alone, residents have access to more than 4,000 acres of city-owned property, managed by the parks department.

- The Cedar Rapids Kernels are a minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels and play in a state-of-the art 5,600 seat stadium.
- Hawkeye Downs Speedway is Iowa's first and only asphalt racetrack, featuring late model car races. A motocross course is also available near the racetrack.
- The Cedar Rapids Roughriders is the community's USHL hockey team playing in a premier 4,000 seat ice rink facility.
- The University of Iowa provides sports fans with Big 10 athletics and strong collegiate competition.
Arts & Culture Numerous theatres and museums in the Corridor prove you don't have to live in a large metropolitan area to indulge in cultural richness.
A variety of theaters including the Paramount Theater and Hancher Auditorium provide venues showcasing some of the world's greatest musical icons and theatrical performances.
